Romona Robbins, a native of Florida’s Emerald Coast, comes to photography by way of a fine arts background and degrees in the biological sciences. After a decade of living across the U.S. and Asia, tromping through rainforests of Costa Rica and Indonesia, and watching the sunrise over Gaudi rooftops in Barcelona, Romona has decided to once again make Florida her home and base for photographic pursuits. Enjoying the immediacy and satisfaction of capturing the world around her, she composes a photo as she would a painting; recording the natural movements as a biologist in the field. Romona enables her subjects to reveal their own stories. From a non-intrusive position as active observer, she strives to capture mood, character, and setting in an honest and authentic photo.
